KinderCare Spring Camps!
Did you know that some of the dirt in your backyard may be about 1,000 years old? Did you know that some types of monkeys eat dirt? Those are some of the things that your child could learn at KinderCare Spring Camps!
The theme this year for KinderCare's Spring Camp is The Secret Science of Dirt. It's great because the camp in your area should be the same week that your kids have Spring Break! They can take a week off of regular school and have a lot of fun at camp learning about planting and tending vegetables, making compost, creating garden-related crafts, and (after clean up!) prepare tasty veggie treats! As for your preschool kids, they can also have a week of fun enjoying hands-on science lessons, veggie cooking, and craft-making. There are more than 1,700 KinderCare locations that you can choose from for your child(ren) to enjoy 5 fun-filled days Spring Camp!
Want to try a great little science project at home? Here is a fun one that all ages of kids can enjoy! Make your own Indoor Lawn! For this project, you will need a brand new clean kitchen sponge, a Plate, a Gallon sealable baggie, a Straw and Grass Seed. First, soak the sponge in cold water for a few minutes and then gently squeeze out the excess water and place the sponge on a plate. Next, have your child sprinkle the grass seeds onto the sponge. You will then need to slide the plate into the baggie. Then stick the straw into the baggie and seal the baggie around the straw. Have your child blow into the straw to inflate the bag. You have just made a mini green house!
Then you will need to put the baggie on a sunny window sill. Have your child check the baggie each day and report any changes they see. They will need to add more water if the sponge dries out. After the first day there should be water clinging to the top of the baggie in droplets because the sun has heated the water in the sponge causing it to evaporate, rise and condense into drops. This is a great example to talk with them about how clouds form and sometimes make rain.
After 2 days you should see roots and after 4 days there should be tiny green shoots (this is the grass!) After 7 days, you should have grown a small pet lawn!

You can contact your local KinderCare to find out the dates of the Spring Camp nearest to you! They also have 12 fun-filled weeks of Summer Camp this year with themes such as Kids Kitchen, Sports Smarts and Splish Splash!
Disclosure: I will receive 1 Free week of Summer Camp for posting on behalf of KinderCare through MomSelect.

Time for Spring Cleaning!

I don't know about you, but the cleaning bug has bit me this year! I have been so busy cleaning the house both by actually cleaning and cleaning out aka getting rid of unwanted clutter! So when Christine at RN Central contacted me about an article she posted, I knew I wanted to share this with you!
She has an awesome article about 30 Easy Recipes for Greener Cleaning! A lot of these are made with things you probably already have around your house and the recipes are safe to use around your pets and children! Do any of you have kids that like to help clean the house? Mine do, sometimes, when it fits into their busy schedule between watching Spongebob and playing Wii! Well with these recipes, I feel better knowing that they can help me clean without using harmful chemicals!! Woo hoo!
When you get a chance, head on over to RN Central and check out the 30 Easy Recipes for Greener Cleaning! Let me know if you use any of the recipes and how they worked for you!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! We are super busy tomorrow with a huge birthday celebration for my hubby's parents. First bowling, then pizza, then a movie, then supper out and finally hang out at their house!!! Whew! What are your plans?

5 Dinners in ONE hour (Review/Giveaway) - Closed

A couple of months ago I ran across this awesome blog, Make 5 Dinners in One Hour. Well, being a busy mom of 4 who loves to find ways to make meals faster and easier, I was intrigued. I thought that if this was possible, my life would be so much better at supper time! I don't know about you, but right now we have Soccer 4 nights a week and Karate 4 nights a week, so we are super busy and everything seems to be right at supper time.
So I decided to sign up to receive a free trial menu (you can to! Just visit the blog!) and check this concept out and see if it would work for our family. I have to say that I was very impressed with the way Michelle has everything planned out for you on the menus. She makes it super easy to be organized and to buy the groceries for your week's menu. I was hooked! I then decided to go ahead and sign up to receive her monthly menu plans! How could I pass it up? They are only $1.25 per menu! I think that is a fabulous deal!
The meals she puts on the menus are very family friendly and my family has loved or liked everything I have made so far! Some of them have even become our favorite meals....right now her recipe for BBQ Chicken Wings is top on our list! YUMMY!
What exactly is 5 Dinners in ONE hour?
In the words of Michelle, the creator:
I have created a plan to cook all 5 dinners for the week in just ONE hour. All the menu plans have family friendly meals that feed 4-6 people and no, they are not all casseroles. :)
The meals are fresh, not frozen. They keep in your refrigerator until ready to heat and eat.
Visit 5 Dinners in ONE hour to subscribe to get monthly menus delivered to your inbox. Purchase is not necessary to enter into giveaway.

Currently, she does blog designs (just starting out) at Doodleblogs and also install blogs for April Showers Blog Design. She loves Printables and has a blog for that too, Simply Awesome Printables! Other than that, she loves movies, reading, meal planning and trying to figure out how to save money for her family! Chanin is usually busy running her kids to soccer, karate, church choir, and tumbling classes during the week.

NiNi's Toy Bungee stops your little one from throwing toys, bottles, & cups (Review)
My son loves to throw things from toys to his sippy cups especially when he's having one of his Terrible Two Moments. If he sees me pick up his sippy cup and place it back on the table he thinks I'm playing a game with him so he throws it back down. Every mother has gone through something like this at one time or another. Lately since the weather has been nice outside we will roll down the windows in the car while we're in the parking lot and I'm worried that he will throw something out and it will be gone forever.
I recently received NiNi's Toy Bungee and it is totally awesome! Toy Bungee is a multi use strap, designed to keep baby/toddler toys, cups, and bottles from falling to the floor.
Toy Bungee`s child resistant button design means peace of mind for parents while baby or toddler drink or play comfortably.
Great for use in strollers, car seats, high chairs, airplanes and more!
My first fear when I saw the Toy Bungee was that my son would be able to release the clip (he has masted this with his seat belt). I have used the Toy Bungee for 2 weeks now and he has not been able to release the clip. It's a miracle toddler proof strap! We use it a lot in the car, in his high-chair, and on the stroller. No more bending over and picking up his things a million times a day. It's also a sigh of relief because I don't have to worry about his things touching the icky floors at the doctors office, the zoo, or wherever we go. The Toy Bungee is made of a plastic material that is Non-Toxic so it can be easily washed by hand with soap and water.

Clinere Ear Cleaner "Exfoliates Ear Skin" (Review)
Do you ever get the feeling that when you clean your ears with a cotton swab it doesn't get the job done completely. I feel like that often. I have tried several different cotton swab brands thinking that I will eventually find the one that I trust but I'm always left disappointed. I was asked to try this new innovated ear cleaner called Clinere.
Clinere™ Ear Cleaners are the latest innovation in personal ear cleaning and a much needed upgrade from the outdated cotton swab. Complete with dual purpose ends and made of soft, flexible plastic, Clinere Ear Cleaners feature a scoop end that can be used to remove unwanted wax, dirt and debris, as well as a finned end that can be used to clean and exfoliate the outer surfaces of the ear and canal entrance.
With Clinere my ears feel so much more cleaner then using the traditional cotton swabs. At the same time it exfoliates the skin and help relieves any itching in the ear as well. The scoop on one end is great to get in those spaces that cotton swabs can't. My daughter loves it when I use the Clinere in her ears. My 2 year old son is still trying to get use to it but my husband and I love it.
Clinere Ear Cleaners are sold in 10-count packages and priced between $5.99 and $6.99. Currently, they are available in Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, H-E-B and Shopko stores nationwide.
The Clinere Ear Cleaner I received was provided at no charge by Dittoe Public Relations. No other compensation was given in exchange for this review.
